Well, there is no denying that the current pandemic has tested homes across the world: tested patience, faith, fear, love, kindness, anger, a slew of emotions and quite frankly one hell of a rollercoaster ride.
Whether it’s working from home, homeschooling, loss of a job, being quarantined with family members who don’t usually live with you in the first place, this pandemic has rocked households and families like we never saw coming.
Daily, I am trying to find the perfect balance of a schedule. Not just for me and my sanity, but for my three children (1, 3, and 5 years old) as well. I am diligently trying the keep their schedule similar to what they were used to in school. Reading, writing, crafting, singing, recess…my goodness, I’m exhausted. My number one daily goal that restarts each morning is to wear these kids out! Ha! To be brutally honest, some days are smooth, easy, and hopeful, and others very rough and challenging.
One thing that has become a new part of my schedule is my devotional time. For some, this may be yoga or meditation. For me, I am talking about my quiet time in my faith. Whether it’s prayer, reading scripture, listening to an online service, this is a scheduled time that is necessary to my day. It is so important to start my day in the right mindset for all that I am about to take on. While we are all trying to figure out what our “new normal” is supposed to look like, this is something I realize I have been missing in my life. Some changes are great ones, and this is one of them.

These are genuinely some of my all-time favorite books. The Power of a Praying Woman I have read more than once. There is just so much goodness on each page. And The Battlefield of the Mind was one I couldn’t put down. It really makes you stop and think about the mindset.
